Privacy policy – Elementric
Last updated: 19 September 2026
This policy explains how we process personal data when you use the Elementric app and the Dripspy leak mat.
What is Dripspy?
Dripspy (sold in Sweden as Droppmattan) is a smart sensor mat that detects leaks early and helps prevent water damage in homes by monitoring potential leak points.
Who is the data controller?
Elementric AB (org. no. 559302-9092, VAT no. SE559302909201), Grevgatan 43, 114 53 Stockholm, Sweden, is the data controller for the processing of your personal data.
What personal data is processed?
Through the Elementric app we process the following personal data about you:
- Name, address, mobile phone number and email address.
- Information about your home, for example the property address, apartment number and where the sensors are placed.
- Any images of plumbing installations, if you choose to upload them.
- Sensor data from the mat, for example leak detection, temperature and battery status.
- Communication with us, for example support requests, feedback or survey responses.
Why is personal data processed?
To fulfil our agreement with you
The processing is necessary to fulfil the agreement with you regarding the mat and the app.
Quality
We evaluate how the mat and the app are used and how well they work.
Marketing, statistics and reports
Only after anonymisation, that is when the data can no longer be linked to you, may information from the mat or the app be used for marketing, statistics and reports.
Legal basis for the processing
Contract
Processing of sensor data, contact details and information about plumbing installations (including any images) is necessary for Elementric AB to fulfil the agreement regarding the mat.
Legitimate interest
Other processing is based on Elementric AB's legitimate interest in developing and evaluating services that prevent damage. We have assessed that this interest outweighs your interest in the protection of your privacy, because the processing is limited and necessary for the purpose of the product.
When you contact us
If you send us a message through the contact form on our website or by email, we process your name, company, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message, so that we can answer your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and developing business relationships. We keep these messages for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and any business relationship that follows.
The support chat on our website
Every page on this website carries a support chat. It is Chatwoot, open-source software that Elementric AB runs on its own server at support.elementric.com. When you open a conversation we process what you write, any name, email address or phone number you give us, and technical information about the visit such as the page you were on, your browser and your approximate location from your IP address.
The first answer usually comes from Ellie, an assistant based on artificial intelligence. Ellie is not a person, and the chat says so before you start writing. To answer, the text of the conversation is sent to OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. If Ellie cannot answer, a colleague takes over and replies by email, which is why she asks for your address.
Messages sent through the contact form on this website are also opened as a conversation in Chatwoot, alongside the email we receive, so that nothing is missed.
Cookies and what the chat stores in your browser
This website carries no advertising and no tracking cookies. It sets one cookie of its own, el_region, which remembers the country and language you are reading in so you are not sent to the wrong one next time; it lasts a month and holds nothing but a path such as /se/sv/. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not follow you between sites. We also count clicks through to a retailer, as a number per shop — never tied to a person. The support chat, however, stores information in your browser so that a conversation survives reloading the page: an identifier that lasts up to a year, and a session identifier that is removed when you close the browser. If you do not want that, you can block cookies for support.elementric.com in your browser, or simply not use the chat; the rest of the site works without it.
Videos embedded from YouTube
Some pages embed a short video from our YouTube channel. The player is only loaded when you scroll down to it, and it uses YouTube's no-cookie address (youtube-nocookie.com), so nothing is requested from YouTube on pages you never scroll through. When the player does load, YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) receives your IP address and information about your browser, and if you press play it may store information in your browser. We receive nothing from YouTube about who watched. If you would rather not load it at all, do not scroll to the player, or block youtube-nocookie.com in your browser.
Who do we share your personal data with?
We only share data with necessary data processors, for example providers of cloud services for the app and data storage, who process it on behalf of Elementric AB under written data processing agreements. We never sell your data to third parties.
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by our email service provider, which processes them on our behalf. Support conversations are processed by Chatwoot, which runs on our own server, and by OpenAI, which generates the assistant's answers. If a provider processes personal data outside the EU/EEA, as OpenAI does, we make sure there are appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long is the data stored?
- Personal data linked to your account is stored for as long as the agreement is in force and for a further 48 months after it ends, for warranty and support purposes.
- Support conversations, and the contact records created from them, are kept for 24 months and then deleted.
- Anonymised data is stored for longer, for statistics and product development.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
What happens when you uninstall the app and stop using the mat?
Personal data processed to fulfil the agreement is stored for as long as you, as a consumer, can make a claim about defects in the service under applicable consumer law (in Sweden, the Consumer Sales Act).

You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
