Elementric was founded in 2021 by Fredrik Lindell and Alexander Wheeler. As chair of a housing cooperative, Fredrik kept dealing with costly water damage in residents' kitchens, and couldn't find anything that caught the leaks early. So they built it.

On 18 March 2026, RISE grants type approval C901469 under CR 139. RISE describes Elementric as the first to receive type approval for a connected water alarm.

Every mat is designed in Sweden and produced in Poland. The type approval comes with a decision on manufacturing control, so RISE checks the production itself, not just a test sample.
