Dripspy (Droppmattan in Sweden) lies flat under the sink, dishwasher and fridge. About five drops raise an alert on your phone or your property team's platform, so a slow leak is caught early.
Kitchen leaks start small, out of sight.
Dishwashers, fridges and sink connections sit behind closed doors and plinths. A slow drip there rarely forms a puddle. It soaks into the floor and spreads through the structure.
- One drop a second is about 25 litres a day.
- Soaked chipboard has roughly a fortnight before mould starts.
About a third of water damage in homes starts in the kitchen. Most of it from white goods under ten years old, according to RISE.
The water is absorbed into the floor structure and does structural damage in wood and concrete alike. By then you are replacing the floor, not a hose.

It measures water flowing through the supply pipe, and a few drops an hour are too small to see. It is blind to a drain-side leak, or one that only happens while the dishwasher runs.

A large catch area right where drips land, under the sink, dishwasher and fridge. About five drops raise an alert, from the supply, the drain or the appliance itself.
A flow sensor with shut-off guards against a burst pipe. Dripspy catches the slow leaks it cannot see. The two work well together.
New kitchens in Sweden now need a certified alarm.

RISE type approval C901469 under certification rule CR 139, issued 18 March 2026 — the first connected water alarm in Sweden to hold one. It lies flat under the dishwasher, the fridge, or in the sink cabinet, and senses across the whole mat instead of at a single point, so a drip is found where it falls. The approval covers either WiFi or LoRaWAN communication, and it meets Säker Vatteninstallation 2026:1, the Swedish plumbing industry's rule that calls for a certified leak alarm in new and renovated kitchens.
